Hello my chosen family, it's a very quick message today. Today, of all days being Valentine's Day, I want to send my love and virtual hugs to each and every one of you.💖⭐
The 14th is also a complex day for me, because it is the day that I carried my dad's coffin and finally said farewell to him. It was his funeral date…
My dad was an amazing man… my only supporter for myself as a trans guy. When he died, I lost both parents; even though my mum is still alive. That's another story…
He was instrumental in helping me understand what was going on for me, and assisting me to access help. Most of all, he had a fantastic sense of humor; even in the bleakest of times…I am forever be grateful for him. There is not a day that goes by that I don't miss him, talk to him and do my best to carry on for him. Despite sometimes overwhelming odds and health issues.
I chose to carry his coffin all those years ago, as it was the last thing that I could do for him… to carry him… as he had carried me in my lifetime. He was a great guy and gone too soon.
I wrote and created this music video below, ‘Happy As Can Be’ today. Inspired by the overwhelming emotions many in our community are currently feeling regarding recent diversity, equity and inclusivity rollbacks, as well as the transgender and non-binary bans in America.
